우표와 수집/X-mas씰

연날리기, 널뛰기소녀 크리스마스 씰, 로제타 홀 여사 자료

Lot 22- This is one of a number of final lots that I am offering for sale. All of these items come from my grandfather’s (Albert F. Balla) collection. He was a major collector of stamps and Christmas seals, and a correspondent to Dr. Rosetta Sherwood Hall - the woman who really instituted the Hospitals and institutions in Korea for the blind, handicapped, and infirmed, including tuberculosis. This lot features a copy of “The Mother of Pyong Yang” signed to my grandfather by Mary Wilton. The booklet, The Mother of Pyong Yang is about the life of Rosetta Sherwood Hall. It tells of her work with the sick and disabled and blind, and includes photos of her, her first patient, some of the gifts she was given by the government, as well as photos of Sherwood Hall and Marion Hall. Please see photos for details. Also, there is “A Mother’s Faith” Haiju, Korea written by Marian B. Hall, printed by YMCA Press, Seoul, Korea. We have a pink flyer that describes the imagery of the 1938 Seals, as well as a green flyer describing the Kite Flying imagery that also has a seal attached, as well as a hand written note by Rosetta Hall that says: “ and in earlier days the men also, entered into the game”. one further treat is a rice paper card from 1935. This is a very rare opportunity to acquire this piece of history. Please contact me with any questions, or to see more photos. Condition is good, details can be seen in photos, or ask for more images. Shipping to Korea will be $25.00. Please make sure you ask any questions, or if you would like further photos. I am listing other really interesting Korean Christmas Seal related items now as well. Please check out my other listings.
