우표와 수집/X-mas씰

1934년 크리스마스 씰 아이 업은 여인 1935년 널뛰기

This is one of a number of final lots that I am offering for sale. All of these items come from my grandfather’s (Albert F. Balla) collection. He was a major collector of stamps and Christmas seals, and a correspondent to Dr. Rosetta Sherwood Hall - the woman who really instituted the Hospitals and institutions in Korea for the blind, handicapped, and infirmed, including tuberculosis. This lot features a card from 1934, depicting a mother and child, with its envelope. At the time Elizabeth Keith was the English artist who painted this picture, and she was the guest of Rosetta Sherwood Hall at the East Gate at the time of making the work. There is a rare Christmas Seal Committee of Korea receipt, along with an original article written by Dr. Rosetta Hall about “The New Year and the ‘Twin Cross’ Tuberculosis Seal in Korea”. Also, I have an invitation to a “Celebration of Four Anniversaries in one”- taking place at Haiju in 1938. Please see the photos for details. It includes the program of events as well as a  “celebration of the Sanatorium Song” written by a patient. one further treat is a rice paper card from 1935. This is a very rare opportunity to acquire this piece of history. Please contact me with any questions, or to see more photos. Condition is good, details can be seen in photos, or ask for more images. Shipping to Korea will be $25.00. Please make sure you ask any questions, or if you would like further photos. I am listing other really interesting Korean Christmas Seal related items now as well. Please check out my other listings.
